I have made an important change in the schedule for next week. I'd like you to read the assignments for the Morality special topic by Tuesday (not Thursday), since I plan to be ready to discuss the topic by then.

The Cognitive Science program is co-sponsoring an invited talk in Romance Languages on April 13. It may be of interest to any student who is interested in linguistics or in bilingualism. Here are the details.

Three of the remaining due dates have been changed. Assignment 4 is now due on Saturday. Due dates for preliminary versions of your term paper have been pushed back.

Another source of grade credit is class participation. Up to 40 points are available that way. I assigned up to 15 points so far, based on the following criteria:

Since this is a source of credit that requires little beyond doing the assigned reading, it should not be ignored.

Grades for Assignment 2 were supposed to have been posted last Friday, but apparently Sakai failed to comply for some students. I re-released them. If you did see your score previously, please try again. If it's still not there, let me know.

For students in Section 2, I have made PDF copies of key parts of Chapters 1 and 2, to give you something to do until the textbooks arrive. You can find them at Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. No excuses now!

Note that there are required readings for most class periods. It's important that you keep up with the readings.

Sakai Portal. This web site is part of the UNC Sakai Project. You must use the Sakai portal to submit assignments, and you can find information there about your grade. If you have questions about the course material, you may post them in the discussion forum and I'll provide an answer (if I can!)
