Here is some inspiring news about the dissemination of TM (and the more advanced TM-sidhi program) in countries in Latin America. "Here are a few programs taking place in Latin American countries. In Bolivia Congress passed a resolution for the TM quiet time program to be introduced into all their public schools. In Brazil a hundred thousand of the military police are now being taught TM. In Colombia father Gabriel Mejia, a man who some call a
modern-day saint, is working with almost forty TM teachers to teach TM in schools and social centers to over a hundred thousand youth. In Ecuador the Ministry of Education has agreed to gradually teach TM to 1,100,000 secondary school students and up to 10,000 practitioners of the advanced TM-sidhi program in the military schools. In Mexico official implementation of transcendental meditation and the TM-sidhi program at the public social health systems which is equivalent to Medicare in the USA is taking place in Mexico and Brazil. So far 1600 healthcare professionals and workers have learned TM and a nationwide rollout is underway. In Peru 40,000 people have learned TM in the Schools, and 7,500 have learned the TM-sidhi program. In Venezuela a university is funding the instruction of 11,000 TM and in the TM-sidhis."
 
Antonio Gonçalves, who has taught TM in Brazil and Mexico, gave a guest lecture in the spring 2015 Social Justice and Equality class. Antonio, who was TM National Director for Portugal, also helped to teach TM to the Mozambique military in the early 1990s.
