Welcome to EPID600, Principles of Epidemiology for Public Health.
Originally EPID160, Principles of Epidemiology has been continuously taught by the Department of Epidemiology for over a half-century. The online version was the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health's first online credit course. Epidemiology is the foundational public health science, practiced by researchers in all public health disciplines to monitor the health of populations, quantify the magnitude of health problems, identify their determinants, and evaluate public health interventions. Epidemiology is inherently transdisciplinary and in principle can expand our understanding and awareness in the quest for greater wisdom and fulfillment - Epidemiology for Enlightenment!
