• UNC Gillings community mourns Professor Emeritus Mike Aitken
  Michael (Mike) Demilt Aitken, PhD, age 64, professor emeritus in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (ESE), passed away September 19, 2020 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. His family was beside him in his Chapel Hill home.
