For Instructors and TAs
Blackboard courses for the spring 2011 semester are created automatically with the information coming from Connect Carolina every day at 8AM and 5PM starting November 2010. Please note that a course will be created automatically only if there is an instructor of record entered in Connect Carolina for the course.
If you are:
- The instructor of record: check with the Course Scheduling Officer in your school or with the University Registrar to confirm that you have been entered in Connect Carolina as the instructor of record for the course/s. You should also check that your Onyen is active in Connect Carolina. Your Onyen might be inactive if you have not taken the FERPA course, etc.
- A co-instructor: check with the Course Scheduling Officer in your school or with the University Registrar to confirm that you have been entered in Connect Carolina as a proxy instructor for the course/s. You should also check that your Onyen is active in Connect Carolina. Your Onyen might be inactive if you have not taken the FERPA course, etc. Alternatively, If your department prefers maintaining these type of enrollments manually, someone from your department who already has instructor access to the course may enroll you in the Blackboard course using your Onyen.
- A TA in the course: check with the Course Scheduling Officer in your school or with the University Registrar to confirm that you have been entered in Connect Carolina as a TA for the course/s. Alternatively, If your department prefers maintaining these type of enrollments manually, someone from your department who already has instructor access to the course may enroll you in the Blackboard course using your Onyen.
For Students
- The course is unavailable to students. Check with the course instructor to confirm that he/she has made the course available to students. For instructions on how to make a Blackboard course available to students see How to make a Blackboard site available to students?
- You are auditing the course. Students who wish to audit a course, must formally register with the University Registrar. Instructors may not enroll students in Blackboard manually for auditing purposes. More information at http://regweb.unc.edu/resources/rpm09.php
- Your enrollment has been disabled because of due fees, vaccinations, etc. Please check with the appropriate office to correct this so your enrollment is re-activated.
